Teaching

I love to teach art and connect with others through painting. I teach watercolour and gouache at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre in Fredericton, for both beginner and intermediate painters. I am always experimenting with delivery, and classes range from half day "give it a try" sessions to intensive multi-week series.

My intermediate classes, Telling Stories in Gouache and Watercolour, are for painters who already have some watercolour experience and want to push into narrative work, learning my process for turning personal photographs into paintings that tell a story.

Classes are small on purpose, with lots of individual feedback and live demonstration. My whole approach comes down to one idea: we are artists, not human photocopiers. The goal is your voice, not mine.

Workshops tend to fill quickly. Registration runs through the Charlotte Street Arts Centre. Past students can join the Telling Stories group on Facebook, where I share a free painting prompt every month.
